Peppol is an international network for exchanging e-invoices and other business documents. Sender and recipient each connect through a certified access point; the network routes documents between them using unique participant identifiers. Originally an EU project, it is now managed by the non-profit OpenPeppol and used far beyond Europe. Belgium made Peppol the required channel for domestic B2B e-invoicing.
